Appointments
How it works
You call the surgery when the phone lines are open from 08:30 - 18:00. The morning appointments are released at 08:30 and the afternoon appointments at 13:00.
If you are requesting to book an appointment to see the doctor the receptionist will take your phone number and any special instructions about when you can be contacted. It is helpful to us if you can give a brief indication of the nature of why you are requesting a consultation as this will help us prioritise calls.
The clinician on duty will call you back within an agreed length of time.
When the clinician calls you back you can discuss the matter and agree the next step: this may be:-
- an appointment on that day, or on another day to suit you.
- or you may be requested to have some tests done first
- or it may be that the matter can be dealt with over the phone without the need to come to the surgery
There is no change to appointments to see the Nurse or Health Care Assistant. These appointments can all be booked in advance.
If you have a condition which requires regular monitoring such as Chronic Respiratory Disease, Asthma, Chronic Heart Disease, Diabetes or INR monitoring, these appointments can also be booked in advance.
Telephone Advice
The doctors are always happy to give advice over the phone. If they are not available at the time of your call, they will ring you back.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
